Here it is, the second day of my detox
The day started quite interesting. I woke up at 5:00 am and I was pretty surprised I was so awake. I tried to sleep a bit more but after 10 minutes I realized that I have to get up. I started my running/work out routine like every day. I noticed more energy and better performance than normal. Below you will see my raw food detox diet.
So here is what I ate for breakfast:
Honeydew melon blended with orange, lemon juice and handful of cacao beans
That was a pretty interesting smoothie. My smoothie maker didn’t quite blended all the cacao beans as there where some small, solid parts of them. Cacao beans gave a more bitter taste. Even thought melon and orange were pretty sweet the cacao beans gave more bitter taste. In the future I may experiment in giving less of them. It tasted much better than the yesterday’s smoothie.
Lunch:
Small green-leafed vegetable salad with kale, spinach and other with 15 walnuts and squeezed lemon
It tasted really good. I was surprised by the taste of kale. It tastes great! I think the key is to mix up as many different salads and cabbages for more unique taste. If you are going to eat only a standard, green salad, it will be hard to get through it. With more diversity, plus some nuts and lemon juice, it taste so much better! All in all, I was pretty happy with this meal.
Smoothie from 4 grapefruits
Awesome, really refreshing. I always use red grapefruits for the best taste. It’s great in a detox period too.
Snacks:
2 handfuls of goji berries
1 handful of walnuts and almonds
1 bowl of cherries (frozen)
That was one of my favorite meals. It tasted good, refreshing and a good mix. Nuts and berries definitely go up together.
Dinner:
Large salad with lettuce, endive, parsley, collards, kale, spinach, diced radishes, cayenne pepper and a lemon squeezed
2 avocados
1 liter of vegetable juice made from 60% green vegetables like chard, celery, parsley, lettuce, spinach and 40% other vegetables or fruits like apple, cucumber and yam
Large salad tasted really good with a mix of different salads. Cayenne pepper gave a nice taste in a mix with freshly squeezed lemon. At the end I tried to eat 2 avocados but it was too much for me. I will need to work on a balance between green-leafed vegetables and fats. Also 1 liter of vegetable juice was definitely too much for me after a big salad and avocados in between. Still, really good meal, a lot of green-leafed vegetables and fats.
During the day I experienced a bit more energy. Even though I was on my legs for like 19h I didn’t feel asleep. I experienced a bit more pissing than usual and one time my heart started to hit quicker for no apparent reason. I guess I’m in a ‘raw food detox’ phase and will see how the next day will go
